Portas Productions is just me.

I build small, useful apps one at a time, with an emphasis on clarity, privacy, and making things that feel nice to use. My Allotment is the first app I'm putting out into the world under Portas Productions, and I’m hoping it’ll be the first of a few.

If this app helps you enjoy your plot a bit more or stay a bit more organised through the season, then it’s doing exactly what I hoped it would.

  • Backup & restore: save your whole allotment to a file, and bring it back on a new phone.
  • Harvest amounts: record what you actually picked, in kilos, grams, count or bunches.
  • Linked journal entries: tie a note or photo to what you're growing, and find it by crop name later.
  • Search the planting log: jump straight to a crop or a bed.
  • 20 more UK crops: cavolo nero, mangetout, elephant garlic, fig, and more.

  • Crop history: open any crop and see your own seasons of it — every note, photo and harvest, year by year.
  • Frost-date guidance: your last and first frost actually put to work, telling you when it's safe to sow and what to start indoors.
  • Season totals: what your plot produced across the year, and which beds earned their space.
  • Bed planner: pinch-to-zoom, easier crop moving, and companion hints on the grid.

My Allotment does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal data to Portas Productions.

Your plots, beds, plantings, notes, tasks, and photos are stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not use ads, analytics, or tracking.

If you add photos to the app, they are used only for your own garden journal and remain on your device.
